As the business grows, and the work demands get larger, we’re now in the position to hire multiple qualified Line Mechanics.
Job Description
We are on the lookout for experienced distribution Line Mechanics to join our Lines Business and become an integral part of our distribution operations team, maintaining the electricity lines in the Kapiti and Horowhenua districts.
The position of Line Mechanic will see you undertake these main functions and key responsibilities/results:
Construction and maintenance of overhead and underground power supplies up to 33kV
Fault location, diagnosis and repair duties (as authorised)
Network switching (as authorised)
Strict adherence and promotion of Legislative, Industry and Electra Health and Safety requirements
Desired Skills and Experience
To be a successful candidate for this role, you will be a qualified Line Mechanic with:
NZ Registered Line Mechanic Level 4 or equivalent
3+ years’ experience within the electricity distribution industry
Full class one Drivers Licence
Registration with Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) or the registration process underway.
A passion for best practice health and safety
High level of personal fitness – ability to lift bulky equipment (up to 30kg)
You may also:
Hold a class two Drivers Licence (desired)
Be trained in the use of an EWP vehicle (desired)
