Job Description

As a Network Asset Assurance Engineer, you'll play a key role in ensuring Electra’s electricity network is compliant, high-performing, and safe for both the public and our team. This role is crucial in helping us meet the requirements of the Electricity Act 1992 and the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, ensuring our assets are managed to the highest standards.

 What You’ll Do

  • Conduct audits and quality control assessments on Electra’s electricity network assets to ensure compliance with engineering and legal standards.
  • Support asset assurance by analysing risks and managing the Network Team's Public Safety Management System (PSMS).
  • Provide monthly reporting on audits, asset compliance, and recommend improvements.
  • Lead investigations into incidents and accidents, identifying root causes and driving continuous improvements.
  • Share knowledge of current legislation and industry best practices, coaching teams to enhance asset safety and performance.
  • Collaborate with the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager to prepare for external audits and ensure compliance ahead of assessments.

Desired Skills and Experience

What You Bring

  • Trade qualification or higher in electricity distribution or a related technical field
  • At least 5 years of experience in asset assurance or quality control
  • Solid understanding of relevant legislation and best practices in electricity network operations
  • Experience in the operation of management systems for safety, quality and risks
  • Experience in identifying and delivering process improvements
  • Strong skills in report writing, time management, and problem-solving\
  • Formal qualifications in safety and quality assurance or ICAM training
  • Experience in project management and network operating practices
