The opportunity
This is a hands-on coaching role where you will work alongside our field teams to develop capability, reinforce safe work practices, and lift overall performance.
You will support the rollout and embedding of the Common Competency Framework (CCF), using in-field coaching and assessment to build consistency, strengthen skills, and grow confidence across our teams.

What you will be doing
Champion safe work practices - reinforcing strong safety behaviours and leading by example in the field
Work alongside our crews, coaching and mentoring on the job to lift capability, confidence, and overall performance
Support the rollout and embedding of the Common Competency Framework (CCF) through practical coaching and assessment
Provide clear, constructive feedback to help individuals and teams continuously improve
Partner with leaders to identify development needs and strengthen capability across the workforce
Spend most of your time in the field, building relationships and making a real impact where the work happens
Collaborate with other technical experts to develop competency
Desired Skills and Experience
What you will bring
A strong and genuine commitment to safety, with the ability to role model safe behaviours in the field
Relevant trade qualification (e.g. Line Mechanic, Cable Jointer, Electrician) with at least 3+ years’ post-qualification experience in electricity distribution.
Solid field experience, with leadership or supervisory exposure viewed as an advantage
The ability to build trust, communicate clearly, and be approachable – someone people feel comfortable learning from and seeking guidance from
The confidence to provide clear, constructive feedback to support safe and compliant work practices
A passion for developing others, coaching on-the-job, and lifting capability and standards across the team.
Assessor Unit Standard 4098 or equivalent adult education/training qualification is preferred (support will be provided to obtain this if needed).
Strong computer and systems skills to support quality assurance and training administration, with familiarity with the Vault reporting system preferred.
